Do you know what the #1 most forgotten critical systems are? Read on for more insight as to the why and what it is?
Do you know what the one of the most needed and expected technologies are in our lives?
Have You Ever Experienced Any of the Following?
You have a new project; a new home, a remodel, new school or library, a classroom, new office space, a new construction project from scrape off to a 60 story high rise.
Your Architect, Interior Designer, Financial Advisor and Board all agree the time is now, letâs move on this. You are sure that you have taken everything into consideration, the construction team has been assembled, the contracts are signed and the budget is in place.
A flurry of activity, deadlines, product not available as originally thought, change orders, budget busted and you are looking for more money to complete the project! What can we do without, where can we cut, the GC is nervous the schedule date is looming, can we use less expensive finishes, not complete some areas?
Coming to the finish date and delivery, now what have I forgottenâ¦.You have forgotten your Audio Video Systems and Low Voltage Systems!
Some reasons that this is the most overlooked is that Architects, Interior Designers and General Contractors do not recognize the need to involve the Audio Visual Consultant at the Conceptual Design Phase of the Project. In most cases A/V is a separate budget item and is dealt directly with the Customer (IT Department?) and the Integrator, usually after construction is 60% to 75% completed, A Costly Error that can be avoided.
In addition the A/V budget is rarely thought of or placed into the construction budget, why is that? If it is not in the budget then it does not get incorporated into the build schedule, and that my friends is why things are over looked.
So now we know why the A/V Systems are overlooked, what do we do about it?
